Rockville Centre crime watch for week of April 21 - April 27, 2011

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 55-year-old resident of East Rockaway was arrested on April 8 in connection with an open arrest warrant from the Village of Hempstead for violating animal control regulations.

A 43-year-old resident of Freeport was arrested on April 10 and charged with driving while intoxicated and vehicle traffic law offenses on Sunrise Highway.

Attempted burglary

A South Park Avenue resident told police on April 7 that someone attempted to gain entry into her apartment by damaging the door and door frame. No entry was made.

Burglary

A resident of Revere Street told police on April 8 that someone entered his residence through a rear window and stole $180 in cash and jewelry.

Criminal mischief

The owner of Art Flowers on North Village Avenue reported to police on April 7 that someone damaged an air conditioning condenser outside the business.

Larcenies

A Grand Avenue resident told police on April 4 that someone stole his 2002 Mercedes from the rear parking lot of his building.

An employee of Mercy Medical Center reported to police on April 7 that someone stole two medical scopes from an office within the hospital.
