Arrests
A resident of Astoria was arrested on Feb. 8 and charged with petit larceny following a disturbance at Taiko Restaurant on S. Village Avenue.
A resident of Hempstead was arrested on Feb. 9 on charges of having an open Hempstead Village bench warrant and vehicle traffic law violations, following a police investigation on Lakeview Avenue.
Burglaries
A resident of Lakeside Drive reported to police on Feb. 9 that someone damaged two doors and a window to the residence, causing approximately $1,000 in damage. The perpetrator did not enter the home and no items were reported lost.
A Hampton Court resident told police on Feb. 11 that someone entered the residence through a side window and stole a Samsung 48’’ television, a HP laptop computer and keys, along with a 1999 Mercury Marquis that was parked in the driveway.
A Wachusetts Street resident told police on Feb. 11 that someone entered the residence through a kitchen window and activated a house alarm. A cell phone was later discovered damaged.
Larcenies
A Roxen Road resident reported to police on Feb. 9 that someone stole her purse from her unlocked 2005 GMC.
An owner of the 7-11 on Merrick Road told police on Feb. 10 that someone stole merchandise valued at approximately $95.
A S. Park Avenue resident reported to police on Feb. 10 that someone stole a UPS package valued at $111.47.
A manager from CVS Pharmacy on Sunrise Highway told police on Feb. 10 that someone stole cosmetic merchandise.
A resident of N. Village Avenue reported to police on Feb. 11 that someone stole a briefcase and a Dell laptop from her 2008 Cadillac that was parked in her driveway.
Unusual incidents
An Arlington Avenue resident reported to police on Feb. 11 that someone attempted to make an online purchase using her American Express credit card account number.
Police received a report on Feb. 11 alerting them of a damaged water main at 2 Lincoln Ave., where construction has been ongoing. The village building department and fire department responded to the scene.
Criminal mischief
On Feb. 9, someone with knowledge of the incident reported that on Feb. 7 at around 4:30 p.m., a patron fired two rounds from a handgun in George Martin Restaurant, 65 N. Park Ave. and damaged a wall. Police say the investigation is ongoing and that they expect to arrest the suspect, a retired New York City detective who is a Rockville Centre resident, at the earliest possible date.
A resident told police on Feb. 9 that someone damaged windows of a vacant house on Brower Avenue. The building department responded to the scene and boarded up the house.
Damage to property
A car was reported damaged on Sherman Avenue on Feb. 7.
A N. Centre Avenue resident told police on Feb. 9 that someone damaged her 2006 Mitsubishi while it was parked at King Kullen on Sunrise Highway.
An employee of Cannon Blackthorn’s reported to police on Feb. 12 that a patron who had been escorted out of the bar damaged a glass door to Silva Dance Academy on N. Village Avenue.

A resident of Houston, Texas received an appearance ticket on Jan. 10 charging her with “early admittance” of garbage on Raymond Street.
A resident of Lakeview was issued an appearance ticket on Jan. 15 charging him with possession of an open alcohol container on the LIRR platform.
