Arrests

A resident of Roosevelt was arrested on Jan. 3 and charged with unauthorized use of a car, criminal possession of a weapon and traffic offenses following a police investigation on Merrick Road. The perpetrator drove a car that had been reported stolen, and he was also in possession of a gravity knife.

A resident of Freeport was arrested on Jan. 8 in Municipal Parking Field 1 and charged with assault of an employee at Kasey’s Bar on N. Park Avenue.

Burglaries

A Muirfield Road resident reported to police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his residence through an unlocked rear window and stole $400 and two iPods.

A resident of Arden Court reported to police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his residence through an unlocked rear window and stole $410.

A Muirfield Road resident told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his home through a side door and stole a lap top computer, bank checks and a 2008 BMW outside. The side door frame was found to be damaged and a pry bar was recovered at the scene.

A Muirfield Road resident told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his residence through an unlocked rear window and stole $400 and two iPods.

A resident of Muirfield Road reported to police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his home through a rear door and stole a Samsung television valued at $741.

A resident of Raymond Street told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his garage through a rear door. No items were reported missing.

Larcenies

A Voorhis Avenue resident told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered her unlocked 2004 Toyota that was parked in the driveway. No items were reported missing.

A Voorhis Avenue resident reported to police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his unlocked 2003 Subaru that was parked in the driveway. No items were reported missing.

A Knollwood Road resident told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his unlocked 2006 Cadillac that was parked in the driveway and stole her son’s epilepsy medication.

A resident of Milburn Street reported to police on Jan. 4 that someone entered her unlocked 2006 Honda that was parked in the driveway; no items were reported missing. In addition, a rear door to the garage was reportedly found open and a kitchen window screen was found in the up position.

A Voorhis Avenue resident told police on Jan. 4 that someone entered his unlocked 2008 Audi that was parked in the driveway of his home and stole 50 rounds of ammunition and an iPod.

A visitor from Melville reported to police on Jan. 9 that someone damaged his 1999 Chevrolet, stole two iPods, a GPS and a portable CB radio. The perpetrator was seen fleeing southbound on St. Marks Avenue.

A visitor from Port Jervis told police on Jan. 9 that someone stole her purse while she was at McFadden’s Pub.

A visitor from New Jersey reported to police on Jan. 9 that someone stole his wallet while he was at Kasey’s Cocktails and Catering.

Unusual incident

A resident of Windsor Avenue reported to police on Jan. 3 that someone stole her Citibank Visa debit card and used it to withdraw funds from her bank account.

Criminal mischief

An employee of Chelsea Financial Services told police on Jan. 5 that someone damaged the front window of the business.

A visitor from Oceanside reported to police on Jan. 9 that someone damaged the driver side window of her 2004 Jeep while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 8.

Property damage

A visitor from Wantagh told police on Jan. 3 that someone damaged tee driver side door and fender of his 2008 Chevrolet while it was parked on Montauk Avenue.

A visitor from Stony Brook reported to police on Jan. 10 that someone damaged his 2004 Infiniti while it was parked on Sunrise Highway.
