Arrests

A 36-year-old resident of Mineola was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with grand larceny, falsification of business records, defraud and petit larceny after police alleged that she used her position as site manager for AHRC in Rockville Centre to withdraw $4,2000 from the bank accounts of mentally challenged adults in her care. Martin was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in First District Court court in Hempstead on Jan. 10.

A 30-year-old resident of of Roosevelt was arrested on Dec. 18 and charged with larceny and DWI after an investigation by police over the theft of construction supplies from the Rockville Centre DPW building on Sunrise Highway.

A 16-year-old resident of North Woodmere was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with possession of a controlled substance after a police investigation at the Village Green.

A 48-year-old resident of Lakeview was arrested on Dec. 26 and charged with petit larceny after he reportedly stole $14 from a donation box located at Quealy Place.

Burglaries

A resident of Vanderveer Court reported to police on Dec. 23 that two men tried to enter his home through a sliding glass door in the rear of the house. They fled on foot with nothing from the house.

A Harvard Avenue resident told police on Dec. 23 that someone entered his home through a kitchen window and stole $175 and two Ipods.

A Harvard Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 23 that someone entered his parked 2007 Saturn and tried to enter her residence with keys that had been in the car. Miscellaneous paperwork was found missing from the car, but the attempt to get into the house failed.

A resident of Hempstead Avenue told police on Dec. 23 that someone entered his house through a dining room window and stole $20.

A resident of Harvard Avenue reported to police on Dec. 23 that someone broke into his 2007 Volvo and his 2003 Volvo and attempted to enter his house with keys that had been in the cars. The attempt to get into the house was unsuccessful.

Larcenies

A manager from Lakeview Mercedes Benz on Sunrise Highway reported to police on Dec. 13 that someone stole eight wheels valued at $12,785 from two 2011 Mercedes cars parked inside the fenced lot at the dealership.

A N. Village Avenue resident told police on Dec. 15 that someone stole both NYS license plates from the 1999 Ford that was parked in the rear of her residence.

A worker from the Citgo gas station on N. Village Avenue reported to police on Dec. 15 that a customer from N. Merrick purchased $52 worth of gasoline using a fake credit card.

A visitor from Cedarhurst told police on Dec. 16 that someone stole a cell phone and $40 from a locker at Bally’s on Merrick Road.

A DPW supervisor reported to police on Dec. 16 that someone stole sewer construction supplies that included manhole covers, frame grates and curb castings valued at approximately $10,000 from the parking lot of 10 Sunrise Highway.

A visitor from Delmar, N.Y. told police on Dec. 16 that someone damaged the front passenger window of his 2010 Dodge and stole a Motion Tablet PC, Garmin GPS and sunglasses while the car was parked at the TGIF restaurant on Sunrise Highway.

A visitor from Oceanside reported to police on Dec. 17 that someone damaged the rear passenger side window of his 2006 Jeep and stole his Nextar GPS navigation device while the car was parked at Mercy Medical Center on N. Village Avenue.

A visitor from Freeport told police on Dec. 17 that someone stole her purse from the front counter of Busy Bee Cleaners on Merrick Road.

A visitor from Freeport reported to police on Dec. 18 that someone stole her purse from Stinger’s bar on Sunrise Highway.

A visitor from Island Park told police on Dec. 18 that someone stole six cough medicines valued at $30 from the CVS Pharmacy on Sunrise Highway.

A Hempstead Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 18 that someone stole her purse while she was in the village.

A visitor from Inwood told police on Dec. 22 that he lost his wallet on N. Village Avenue and someone subsequently made unauthorized purchases of $17.23 and $4.12 from it.

A Richmond Road resident told police on Dec. 23 that someone broke into his 2008 Lexus that was parked in the driveway of his residence. No items were reported stolen.

Assault

A visitor from Valley Stream told police on Dec. 24 that four perpetrators assaulted him while he was near the taxi stand underneath the Long Island Railroad.

Harassments

A Hempstead Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 22 that someone driving a gray car followed her from her home for approximately 15 minutes.

A resident of Vernon Avenue told police on Dec. 22 that someone driving a gray car damaged the side view mirror of his car and, when confronted over the damage, punched him in the

left eye.

Unusual incidents

A Cambridge Street resident told police on Dec. 15 that someone changed the address of his Citibank credit card without authorization.

A S. Kensington Avenue resident reported to police on Dec. 21 that someone telephoned her and claimed she owed $8,682 in Florida taxes, causing her to send money to a Bank of America account in the name of someone not known to her.

The owner of a N. Park Avenue men’s clothing store told police on Dec. 22 that someone attempted to collect money for a debt collection agency without providing proper identification.

Property damage

A DeMott Place resident reported to police on Dec. 13 that someone damaged her kitchen window.

A Hampshire Road resident told police on Dec. 14 that someone damaged a bedroom window.

A Winding Road resident reported to police on Dec. 17 that someone used a water bottle to damage a window and a window screen valued at approximately $230.

A resident from Meehan Lane told police on Dec. 17 that someone damaged her 1992 Toyota.

A resident from Meehan Lane told police on Dec. 20 that someone damaged his 2001 Ford.

A manager of Ayhan’s Shish-Kebob Restaurant reported to police on Dec. 21 that someone damaged Christmas lights.

Domestic incidents

A resident of St. Marks Avenue told police on Dec. 4 that he had a dispute with his wife at their residence.

A Merrick Road resident told police on Dec. 9 that her boyfriend drove her 2007 Nissan without permission.

Lost property

A visitor from Westbury told police on Nov. 24 that two license plates from his 2004 Hyundai were lost while the car was at Autotech Collision on S. Long Beach Road.

Village code violations

Jessica R. Carrano, 24, of New Jersey was issued an appearance ticket on Nov. 17 charging her with solicitation in the vicinity of DeMott Avenue and Amherst Court without an ID or permit.

Patrick Crooker, 23, of Cedar Street received an appearance ticket on Nov. 22 charging him with an animal running at large violation near his residence.

Kimberly A. Slack, 22, of Mastic Beach received an appearance ticket on Nov. 24 charging her with public consumption of an alcoholic beverage near Front Street.

Amanda J. Hening, 21, of Levittown was issued an appearance ticket on Nov. 24 charging her with public urination near Front Street.

Joshua D. Klinger, 19, of Massapequa Park received an appearance ticket on Nov. 24 charging him with consumption of alcohol in public near Front Street and N. Village Avenue.

Steven A. Troise, 28, of Dix Hills was issued an appearance ticket on Nov. 25 charging him with public urination near Park Avenue.

Jamie Rose Carroll, 23, of Wisconsin received an appearance ticket on Nov. 25 charging her with public urination in Municipal Parking Field 4.

Michael J. Spitaliere, 25, of East Rockaway received an appearance ticket on Nov. 25 charging him with removal and disturbance of curbside garbage near Morris Avenue and Raymond Street.

Matthew R. Croutier, 22, of Knollwood Road was issued an appearance ticket on Nov. 25 charging him with possession of an open alcohol container near Front Street and N. Village Avenue.

Cristian Alvarado, 27, of Long Beach received an appearance ticket on Nov. 30 charging him with disturbance and removal of curbside garbage near Morris Avenue and Raymond Street.

Gilberto Mendoza, 29, of Long Beach was issued an appearance ticket on Nov. 30 charging him with disturbance and removal of curbside garbage near Morris Avenue and Raymond Street.

Rony Alid Alvarado, 32, of Long Beach was issued an appearance ticket on Dec. 1 charging him with removal of curbside garbage on Lakeview Avenue.

Wagner Mesilas, 32, of Hempstead received an appearance ticket on Dec. 1 charging him with disturbance of curbside garbage on Hampshire Road.

Erica L. Serratu, 27, of Hempstead received an appearance ticket on Dec. 1 charging her with disturbance of curbside garbage on Hampshire Road.
