Arrests
A 56-year-old Rockville Centre resident was arrested on June 21 and charged with assault following an investigation at his residence.
A 36-year-old Valley Stream resident was arrested on June 25 and charged with assault after causing injury to a victim during a disturbance on Sunrise Highway.
On the same day, two defendants were arrested by Rockville Centre Police Department Anti-Crime personnel during a narcotics investigation at 2 Sunrise Highway:
A resident from Valley Stream was charged with possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.
A resident from East Rockaway was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
A 29-year-old resident from Islip was arrested on June 25 near Clinton Avenue and charged with two counts of aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation, failure to yield, operation of an unregistered vehicle and operation with an expired inspection certificate.
On June 26, an 18-year-old village resident was arrested and charged with assault during a disturbance in his residence. He was also charged with trespass after he was found to have an open warrant from Hempstead.
Larcenies
The manager of Kid’s Cottage on S. Park Avenue told police on June 21 that someone stole girls’ clothing valued at $579.
The following day, a resident from Inwood told police that someone stole a driver’s license from his wallet while he was working at the Rockville Nursing Home on Maine Avenue.
On June 23, a Whitehall Road resident reported to police that someone stole an iPod Touch valued at $250 and a Canon Digital camera also valued at $250 from his unlocked 2011 Jeep that was parked on Sunrise Highway.
The following day, two village residents both told police that someone broke their car windows and stole GPS units while the cars were parked overnight in the Central Synagogue parking lot on Demott Avenue.
Graffiti
On June 21, police noticed graffiti on the front of a vacant building at 334 Sunrise Highway.
Property damage
A village resident told police on June 22 that someone damaged her 2007 Dodge while it was parked in her driveway.
On June 25, a resident from Woodmere reported to police that someone damaged his 2010 Nissan while it was parked in the South Side High School parking lot.
People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
