Arrests

Two 20-year-old residents from Merrick were both arrested during a disturbance on the Long Island Rail Road platform on June 10. During the incident, one of the residents struck a police officer in the face. He was charged with attempted assault, obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. The other was charged with obstructing governmental administration for interfering with officers.

A 29-year-old resident from Malverne was arrested on June 12 and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest during a disturbance in front of the Vibe Lounge on N. Park Avenue.

A 22-year-old Rockville Centre resident was arrested on June 13 and charged with two separate counts of aggravated unlicensed operation and operating with unapproved head lights after he was observed driving a 1999 Honda on Morris Avenue. The defendant was also charged with an additional count of aggravated unlicensed operation after he was found to have an open warrant from Lynbrook.

Attempted purse snatch

On June 8, A Bellmore resident told police that someone jumped out of a car and attempted to take her pocketbook off her shoulder while she was walking on Merrick Road. The perpetrator, who did not steal the pocketbook, fled westbound on foot. No injuries were reported.

Larcenies

A S. Park Avenue resident reported to police on June 11 that someone stole approximately $64,000 worth of jewelry from her apartment.

Property damage

A Uniondale resident told police on June 6 that someone damaged her 2008 Nissan while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 8.

A Knollwood Road resident reported to police on June 7 that someone caused a crack in a sunroom window of his home.

Criminal mischief

On June 6, the owner of a sandwich shop on N. Village Avenue told police that someone inserted glue into the front door lock.

Investigation

The owner of a luggage store on Merrick Road told police on June 7 that two perpetrators entered his store the day before and engaged him in a conversation, during which one of them distracted the owner to allow the other person to sneak behind the store counter and open the cash draw. No items were reported lost from the store.

On June 7, A Hampshire Road resident reported to police that someone made four unauthorized charges of $49.99 in Germany using her checking account.

Village code violations

A 61-year-old resident from Freeport was issued a village appearance ticket on May 24 charging him with unlawful removal of curbside garbage and recyclables.

A 61-year-old resident from Long Beach received a village appearance ticket on May 25 charging him with unlawful garbage removal on Combs Avenue.

A 23-year-old Bellmore resident was issued a village appearance ticket charging him with public urination on N. Village Avenue.

A 21-year-old resident from Baldwin received a village appearance ticket on May 26 charging him with public urination near the Long Island Rail Road station.

A 20-year-old resident from Hewlett was issued a village code violation on May 27 charging him with consuming alcohol in public on Sunrise Highway.

A 24-year-old resident from Wantagh received a village appearance ticket on May 28 charging him with public urination near Municipal Parking Field 8 and S. Park Avenue.

On the same day, a 22-year-old resident from the Bronx was issued a village code violation charging her with public urination near Municipal Parking Field 1 and Sunrise Highway.

A 52-year-old resident from Hempstead received a village appearance ticket on June 1 charging him with disturbing curbside garbage on Hempstead Avenue and Princeton Road.

A 22-year-old from Elmont received a village appearance ticket on June 2 charging him with failure to possess a permit while soliciting near Fonda Road.

A 20-year-old from Merrick was issued a village appearance ticket on June 3 charging him with public urination near N. Village Avenue and Front Street.

A 53-year-old Rockville Centre resident was issued a village appearance ticket on June 3 charging him with interference with recyclables on Chestnut Street.

A 27-year-old resident from from Nevada was issued a village appearance ticket on June 4 charging him with public urination in Municipal Parking Field 8.

On June 5, a 22-year-old resident from Uniondale received a village appearance ticket charging him with public urination in Municipal Parking Field 8. Later that day, the perpetrator was issued an additional ticket for disturbing the peace near N. Park Avenue.

A 28-year-old from Long Beach received a village appearance ticket on June 8 charging him with unlawful removal of recyclables on Voorhis Avenue.

A 21-year-old resident from Levittown was issued a village code violation on June 11 charging him with public consumption of alcohol on N. Park Avenue.

A 61-year-old resident from Freeport received a village appearance ticket on June 12 charging him with unlawful removal of curbside garbage on the Loch Path.
