Arrests
On June 11, four people were arrested and charged with criminal trespass after they were observed by an MTA police officer on private property owned by the Diocese of Rockville Centre.
All four defendants were issued appearance tickets returnable to the First District Court in Hempstead on July 11. The first defendant listed was also charged with criminal mischief for allegedly damaging a school bus:
- An 18-year-old from Freeport
- An 18-year-old from Oceanside
- An 18-year-old from Rockville Centre
- A 19-year-old from Baldwin
A 37-year-old from Rockville Centre was arrested on June 14 after having been found to be the subject of an open warrant for unauthorized use of vehicle in December 2010.
A 25-year-old from Rockville Centre was arrested on June 14 and issued a Nassau County bench warrant for violating a probation discharge condition.
A 24-year-old from Maine was arrested on June 18 and charged with criminal mischief after allegedly intentionally breaking the glass door at With Cheese Please on N. Park Avenue.
Also involved in the incident at With Cheese Please, a 24-year-old from New Jersey was arrested and charged with criminal mischief after allegedly breaking the same door.
A 23-year-old from Rockville Centre was arrested on June 19 and charged with assault after allegedly fighting with a victim on Sunrise Highway.
Burglaries
On June 13, two plumbers at Molloy College reported to police that someone stole $1,313.81 in cash and $4,390 worth of copper piping from a residence hall under construction.
The following day, someone reportedly damaged a rear glass door to a Winding Road residence and stole a laptop computer and foreign currency.
Larcenies
The manager of Ace Hardware on Sunrise Highway told police on July 16 that someone stole saw blades and grinding stones valued at $413.32.
People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
