Arrests
A 21-year-old Baldwin man was arrested on Jan. 15 and charged with two counts of possession of a forged instrument after police discovered him to be in possession of counterfeit money at Kasey’s Cocktails & Catering on N. Park Avenue.
A 22-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested on Jan. 15 and charged with two counts of possession of a forged instrument and grand larceny, following a police investigation during which it was discovered he had deposited forged business checks at a Citibank branch on Merrick Road and a Citibank branch in New Hyde Park.
A 40-year-old man from Howard Beach was arrested on Jan. 15 and charged with possession of a controlled substance and operation of a car with a suspended registration, following a police investigation by anti-crime officers near Sunrise Highway and N. Long Beach Road.
A 28-year-old man from Brooklyn was arrested on Jan. 17 and charged with assault after a police investigation at the Best Western Hotel on Sunrise Highway.
A 26-year-old Jersey City man was arrested on Jan. 17 and charged with petit larceny following a police investigation at King Kullen on Sunrise Highway.
Assault
A group of visitors from Wantagh and Valley Stream reported to police on Jan. 16 that several perpetrators assaulted them near Chichenitza Restaurant on Merrick Road. The victims were later treated at Franklin General Hospital.
Larcenies
A manager of CVS Pharmacy on Sunrise Highway told police on Jan. 11 that someone stole approximately 14 ink cartridges valued at $200. The suspect was seen leaving the store in a 2003 Dodge.
A visitor from Seaford reported to police on Jan. 12 that someone damaged the driver side rear window of his 2008 Toyota and stole a GPS while the car was parked at the TGIF Restaurant on Sunrise Highway.
A visitor from Flushing told police on Jan. 12 that someone damaged the front passenger side window of his 2010 Volkswagen and stole sunglasses, an iPhone and approximately $25 in quarters while the car was parked at the TGIF Restaurant on Sunrise Highway.
A visitor from Lakeview reported to police on Jan. 14 that someone damaged the driver side window of his car and stole a brief case containing legal documents while the car was parked in Municipal Parking the Field 8.
A Wilson Lane resident told police on Jan. 17 that someone stole his 1998 Honda while it was parked in Mercy Medical Center; the car was later recovered in Hempstead.
A Rockville Centre resident reported to police on Jan. 18 that someone damaged the passenger window of her 2006 Lexus and stole a pocketbook while the car was parked in Municipal Parking Field 5.
