People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

Greg A. Martinez, 24, of Austin Boulevard, Island Park, was arrested on June 30 at 11:15 p.m. on South Park Avenue and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and disturbing the peace.

Jorge R. Gonzalez-Bernier, 21, of Lincoln Street, Baldwin, was arrested on July 2 at 3:40 a.m. on Park Avenue and charged with criminal mischief for allegedly intentionally damaging the fire suppression system at Kasey's.

Jason D. Miller, 28, of Sunrise Highway, was arrested on July 2 on Ohio Street and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, false personation and vehicle traffic law violations.

Fire

A vehicle owned by a Baldwin resident caught fire on July 3 at 12:55 p.m. in front of 140 Lakeview Avenue. Rockville Centre firefighters extinguished the blaze.

Burglaries

On June 29, a Lee Avenue resident reported to police that on June 28 a bicycle was stolen from an unlocked and open attached garage.

On June 30 at 5 p.m., a Hillside Avenue resident reported that between 8:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. while she was at work, someone forcibly entered her home. She was unable to determine what was stolen at the time of the report.

Larcenies

On July 5, a Powell Avenue resident reported that between 10 and 10:15 p.m. shrubbery valued at $50, was stolen.

On July 2, a complainant from a Front Street business told police that an employee used a 1-800 telephone line without authorization, resulting in approximately $10,000 worth of charges to the company.

On June 30, an Elmont resident reported to police that on June 26, while attending a family reunion at the American Legion Hall, her cell phone was stolen.

Property Damage

On July 3, a business owner from Lincoln Avenue reported that sometime between July 2 at 11:30 p.m. and July 3 at 6 a.m., a planter in front of his store was damaged.

On June 30, a St. James Place resident reported that at 11:30 p.m. her vehicle, parked on S. Kensington Avenue sustained damage to its rear bumper.

On June 30, a Baldwin resident reported that on June 21 his vehicle sustained damage while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 4.
