People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
Victor Navarro, 21, of Williamson Street, East Rockaway, was arrested on May 31 at 10:36 p.m. and charged with theft of services, disorderly conduct and obstructing governmental administration after he allegedly refused to pay his bill at Croxley Ale House, 9 S. Park Ave.
Andrew J. Vecchione, 31, of Farmedge Road, Bethpage, was arrested on May 28 at 1:16 a.m. and charged with assault and menacing after police said he had a dispute with his girlfriend at Morris Avenue in Municipal Parking Field 1.
James Robinson, 20, of Rockville Centre, was arrested on Austin Boulevard in Island Park on May 27 and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Identify theft
On May 26 a Hempstead resident reported receiving a bill from Mercy Medical Centre charging her for a May 2 procedure she said she knew nothing about.
State Liquor Authority investigation
On May 25, a Rockville Centre building inspector reported that an appearance ticket was issued to McFadden’s Bar, 210 Merrick Road, on May 19, for a violation of the New York State Fire Code that occurred on Jan. 23.
Larcenies
On May 28 at 9:20 p.m. a resident of N. Long Beach Road told police that his unattended Next Chaos BMX bicycle was stolen while he was inside the Taco Bell at 570 Sunrise Highway.
On May 23, an employee of a shop at 20 S. Village Ave. reported to police that someone stole two parking meters from the sidewalk in front of his business.
Criminal mischief
On May 29, a N. Centre Avenue resident told police that between 8:45 p.m. on May 29 and 3 a.m. the next morning, a basement window was broken.
A Valley Stream resident reported to police on May 24 that someone damaged the glass lobby door of 202 Merrick Road between May 21 at 6 p.m. and May 23 at 9:15 a.m.
