People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
A 34-year-old man from South Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested on June 5 and charged with assault after an investigation by Nassau County Police Department regarding an incident that reportedly occurred in Valley Stream.
A 29-year-old New Haven, Conn. man was arrested on June 9 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL offenses after an investigation on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
A 57-year-old man from Long Beach Road, Island Park was arrested on June 10 and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, criminal contempt, menacing and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation on Meehan Lane, Rockville Centre.
A 23-year-old woman from Hampton Road, Lynbrook was arrested on June 12 and charged with making graffiti and possession of graffiti instruments after an investigation in the vicinity of South Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.
Burglary
A resident of Maine Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on June 4 that someone had damaged a rear door and entered her sister’s residence on Davison Place, Rockville Centre sometime between May 22 and June 4.
Forgery
A doctor from Rockville Medical, 178 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre reported on June 6 that a former employee stole a blank prescription sheet and forged it in an attempt to obtain oxycodone.
Larcenies
A resident of Lynbrook reported on June 7 that someone stole her cell phone the evening before at Kasey’s Kitchen and Cocktails at 23 N. Park Ave., Rockville Centre. The victim also reported that she is receiving text messages from a person illegally withholding the phone requesting money in exchange for the stolen property.
A resident of Lawson Avenue, East Rockaway reported on June 9 that someone stole a Samsung LCD television, valued at $400, from his Ford while it was parked at Skelos Sports Complex on Peninsula Blvd., Rockville Centre.
A resident of North Village Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on June 10 that someone stole a cast iron urn, valued at $100, from in front of her residence.
The same day, a resident of Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole an EZ pass from a 2008 Lincoln that was parked in his driveway.
The same day, a resident of Oak Street, Massapequa reported that on June 8 a female acquaintance stole her I-Phone, valued at $800, while they were at McFadden’s Bar at 210 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
Unusual incidents
A resident of Sherman Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on June 4 that someone made unauthorized charges to her cable service account and has been opening her mail without authorization.
A resident of Knollwood Road, Rockville Centre reported on June 8 that an unidentified male attempted to open her front door without permission.
A resident of Vernon Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on June 12 that someone filed a tax return using her personal information without authorization.
Identity theft
A resident of North Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on June 12 that someone applied for a $698.54 loan using her personal information with authorization.
Graffiti
Police personnel identified graffiti on June 4 on a street sign on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
Property damage
A resident of Freeport reported on June 4 that her car bumper was damaged while it was parked in the vicinity of North Village Avenue and Yale Place, Rockville Centre.
A resident of Burtis Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported on June 9 that someone damaged his storm door, valued at $1,200.
Criminal obstruction of breathing
A taxi driver of Biltmore Avenue, Elmont reported on June 10 that a male passenger choked him while he was driving in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and North Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre. His 2005 Ford collided with a light pole and building and the passenger fled on foot down North Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre.
Harassment
A teacher at Riverside Elementary School, 110 Riverside Drive, Rockville Centre reported that a student’s mother had harassed her during the week.
A resident of Harold Street, Oceanside reported on June 9 that during a fight among his friends and another group of 10 unidentified males in Municipal Parking Field 8, Rockville Centre, he was punched in the face and suffered a contusion to his right eye.
