People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 49-year-old man from Hampton Road, Oceanside was arrested on Feb. 27 and charged with criminal contempt, aggravated harassment, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, operation of a motor vehicle without an ignition interlock device and numerous VTL violations after an investigation at a S. Centre Avenue residence.

A 36-year-old man from Park Avenue, Freeport was arrested on Feb. 29 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, false personation, and numerous VTL violations after an investigation at the intersection of Merrick Road and Oceanside Road.

A 34-year-old man from Clinton Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested on March 3 and charged with criminal possession of marijuana and VTL violations after an investigation at 119 N. Park Ave.

Assault

A resident of Reid Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on March 4 that she was assaulted while outside of the Dark Horse Tavern at 12 S. Long Beach Road. The victim sustained minor injuries.

Larcenies

A Rockville Avenue resident reported on Feb. 27 that someone broke the window of his car and stole his laptop while the car was parked in the driveway of his residence.

A resident of S. Lewis Place reported on the same day that someone broke the window of his vehicle and stole his camera and cell phone while his car was parked in the driveway of his residence.

The same day, a resident of Rutland Avenue reported that someone stole his iPod from his car while it was parked in the driveway of his residence.

A resident of Davison Place reported the same day that someone stole a portable DVD player and a pair of sunglasses from his car while it was parked in the driveway of his residence.

The following day, a resident of Woodmere reported that someone stole the driver’s side mirror from his car while it was parked in the lot of Bally Total Fitness at 60 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Baldwin reported on the same day that someone stole his wallet, containing credit cards and $30, from a locker inside Bally Total Fitness.

A Nanuet resident reported on March 2 that someone stole her pocketbook, containing her wallet, credit cards, eyeglasses, car keys, digital camera and $200 while she was inside Kasey’s Kitchen & Cocktails.

A resident of Mount Sinai reported the same day that someone made unauthorized purchases from his TD bank account. The purchases were made at the King Kullen supermarket, 127 Sunrise Highway.

The same day, a resident of North Forest Avenue reported that someone broke the window of his car and stole his GPS while it was parked in the rear of his residence.

A resident of North Forest Avenue reported the same day that someone broke the window of her car and stole $0.50 while it was parked in the rear lot of her home.

The following day, a resident of Hempstead reported that someone stole her car while it was parked in the vicinity of 55 Windsor Ave. The car was recovered after being involved in an accident in the Nassau County Fifth Precinct.

A resident of Freeport reported on March 4 that someone stole his car while it was parked in the lot at Molloy College, 1000 Hempstead Ave.

ID Theft

A resident of St. Mark’s Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on March 1 that someone made two unauthorized withdrawals from his TD Bank savings and checking accounts.

The next day, a resident of Greystone Road reported that someone made unauthorized online purchases from her Chase Bank checking account.

A resident of Brower Avenue reported that someone made unauthorized purchases from her Astoria Federal Savings Bank Visa debit account.
