People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
A 21-year-old man from 227 Street, Rosedale was arrested on April 24 and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and VTL violations following an investigation at Hempstead Avenue and Bulson Road, Rockville Centre.
The following day, a 47-year-old man from Old Country Road, Deer Park was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations following an investigation at Sunrise Highway and N. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre.
A 22-year-old man from Lydia Street, Valley Stream was arrested on April 27 and charged with driving while intoxicated and VTL violations after an investigation on Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
A 28-year-old man from Hamilton Avenue, West Hempstead was arrested the next day and charged with driving while intoxicated and VTL violations after an investigation on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
Burglary
A resident of Cleveland Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 26 that someone damaged a living room window, ransacked her residence and stole a gold ring valued at $15,000 and a silver coin collection valued at approximately $1,000.
Larcenies
A resident of Andover Road, Rockville Centre reported on April 24 that someone stole four wheels and tire rims, valued at $9,200, from his 2013 Nissan GT-R while it was parked in his driveway.
A resident of Oakwood Court, Baldwin reported on the same day that someone stole four tires and rims, valued at $800, from her 2010 Nissan while it was parked at Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre.
A resident of S. Centre Avenue, Rockville Centre reported the next day that someone stole her son’s bicycle, valued at $50, from South Side Middle School.
The same day, a resident of Hampshire Road, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole a pocketbook from her car while it was parked in front of 40 Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre.
A resident of Parkwood Court, Rockville Centre reported on April 26 that someone stole a tire from his bicycle that was secured with a cable lock in the rear of 279 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre
The same day, a resident of Broadway, Hewlett reported that the front driver side window of his 2011 Acura was damaged and someone had stolen property from the car, including a wallet and a cell phone, while the car was parked in Municipal Parking Field 6.
A manager of Bank of America, located at 152 N. Village Ave., reported on April 27 that someone attempted to cash a fake check in the amount of $9,404.37. His driver identification was left at the scene.
The next day, a resident of Horatio Avenue, Merrick reported that someone stole her Coach purse and contents that included $50 and a driver license while at the Dark Horse Tavern, located at 12 S. Park Ave.
A supervisor of the CVS located at 155 Sunrise Highway reported on April 29 that someone stole a CVS Pain Relief PM valued at $13.49 while a female companion returned items.
Unusual incident
A resident of Virginia Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 25 that someone made two unauthorized withdrawals totaling $17,906.54 from her Bank of America home equity account.
Criminal mischief
A resident of N. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 24 that someone damaged her 2009 Honda while it was parked in the rear parking lot of the apartment building.
A resident of Monroe Street, Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged a tire to his 1998 Toyota while it was parked in front of his residence.
The director of Gutterman’s, located at 175 N. Long Beach Rd. reported that someone damaged PVC fencing in the rear of the building causing approximately $400 in damage.
On the same day, the director also reported that five unidentified male teens were observed on the surveillance camera throwing rocks at PVC fencing in the rear of the building, causing approximately $1,000 worth of damage.
