People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Robbery
A resident of Meehan Lane, Rockville Centre was robbed at gunpoint on May 13. The victim told police that four male acquaintances robbed him of $1,100 while he was at another Meehan Lane residence.
Police said the man had been attempting to purchase an iPhone for $150 and the four subjects reportedly punched and kicked him while they were in front of the residence, causing injuries to his nose and mouth.
Arrests
A 58-year-old man from Westside Avenue, Freeport was arrested on May 7 and charged with driving while intoxicated after an accident investigation on Sunrise Highway.
A 54-year old resident of Clinton Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested on May 11 for an open bench warrant charging him with the possession of an open container of alcohol in Roosevelt on Sept. 22, 2007.
Burglaries
A resident of Banks Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on May 7 that someone stole jewelry that included a Breitling Bentley watch valued at $50,000.
The same day, a resident of S. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged an apartment window, ransacked his apartment and stole a bottle of Brugal Rum valued at $50.
Larcenies
A resident of N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on May 7 that someone stole personal property, including credit cards, from underneath her seat at work.
A resident of Muirfield Road, Rockville Centre reported on May 11 that someone stole clothing and costume jewelry from her residence.
The next day, a resident of Jefferson Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole a purse and its contents that included $240 and credit cards while the purse was in her 2009 Chevrolet. The car had been parked at Skelos Sports Complex on Peninsula Boulevard.
Unusual incidents
A resident of Seaford reported on May 7 that while grinding a tree stump in front of 495 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre, he struck a gas line that resulted in a strong odor of gas. RVCPD, RVCFD, RVC Building Department and National Grid personnel responded to the scene.
A resident of Hamilton Street, Rockville Centre reported on May 12 that someone attempted to cash a fraudulent check against a Chase checking account and open two credit cards in his name without authorization.
The same day, a resident of Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that a Citibank representative notified her that someone made $561 in unauthorized purchases against her Citibank account.
Criminal mischief
A resident of Valley Stream reported on May 11 that someone damaged the rear passenger window of her 2012 Nissan while it was parked on Grand Avenue.
The owner of S/K Speed, located at 273 Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged the front window to his store, valued at $1,000.
Property damage
A resident of Lakeview reported on May 7 that her 2005 Nissan was damaged by unknown means while parked in front of 556 Merrick Road.
A resident of Woodmere reported on May 11 that a Jamaica Ash dumpster rolled off the sidewalk in Municipal Parking Field 7 and caused damage to the windshield and driver side fender of her 2010 Lexus.
Harassment
A resident of South Park Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on May 9 that someone made calls to her home telephone causing annoyance.
Lost property
A resident of Linden Street, Rockville Centre reported on May 9 that he lost his New York State attorney ID card somewhere in Rockville Centre.
