People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 36-year-old man from New York Avenue, Elmont was arrested on April 17 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after an investigation on Sunrise Highway.

A 43-year-old man from DeMott Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested on April 22 and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and menacing after an investigation on DeMott Avenue.

Burglary

A resident of Woodgreen Place, Rockville Centre reported on April 18 that someone entered his residence through an unsecured side door and stole $3,700, an Oneida watch and property belonging to a live-in home health aid.

Larcenies

A resident of N. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 17 that someone withdrew $100,000 from his First National Bank checking account.

A resident of Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 20 that someone entered his 2010 Toyota while it was parked in his driveway and stole $11,500 from the vehicle’s center console.

The next day, a resident of Osborne Place, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole a GT bicycle valued at $350 from in front of his home.

A resident of Buckingham Road, Rockville Centre reported on April 21 that someone stole his wallet, containing $270 and miscellaneous paperwork, from a display counter in the Post Office at 250 Merrick Road.

ID Theft

A resident of Windsor Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 21 that someone used his Discover credit card number to make unauthorized purchases from a Michigan supermarket totaling $1,619.38.

Unusual incidents

A resident of N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 16 that someone filed a tax return using his social security number.

The same day, a resident of N. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre reported an unknown person used her identity to open a credit account.

A resident of Merrick Road, Rockville Centre reported on April 18 that someone used his social security number to file a tax return without authorization.

The next day, a resident of Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone forged her name and cashed a missing check against her TD Bank account for $600 without authorization.

Criminal Mischief

A NYS police investigator reported on April 16 that someone damaged his work vehicle while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 21.

A resident of Montauk Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on April 18 that someone damaged a door hinge at her building, located at 152 S. Long Beach Road, Rockville Centre. There was no apparent entry or loss at the time of the report.

A resident of Hamilton Street, Rockville Centre reported on April 22 that someone damaged her 2007 Chevrolet while it was parked in her driveway.

Property damage

The superintendent of a S. Forest Avenue residence Rockville Centre reported on April 17 that someone had damaged the stockade fence in the vicinity of the parking area.

The same day, a resident of Clinton Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone damaged his 2005 Dodge while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 17.
