People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
A 46-year-old Mastic man was arrested on Nov. 9 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and vehicle traffic law violations after police personnel observed him operating a 2003 Chevrolet near Sunrise Highway.
An 18-year-old S. Hempstead teen was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with unlawful possession of an illegal substance after a police investigation near Knollwood Road.
A 46-year-old man from Westbury was arrested on Nov. 12 and charged with driving while intoxicated following a police investigation of a car accident that occurred near Sunrise Highway.
A 43-year-old Flushing woman was arrested on Nov. 13 and charged with prostitution following a police investigation on Lenox Road.
A 53-year-old woman from Far Rockaway was arrested on Nov. 13 and charged with prostitution following an investigation by police on Lenox Road.
A 29-year-old woman from Shasta Lake, N.Y. was arrested on Nov. 13 and charged with prostitution after a police investigation on Lenox Road.
A 46-year-old resident of Windemere Place was arrested on Nov. 15 and charged with disorderly conduct while outside his residence.
Robbery
A sales person from Wink New York on Merrick Road reported to police on Nov. 14 that someone assaulted her during a robbery that took place at the store.
Burglaries
A Norcross Street resident told police on Nov. 9 that someone entered her 2008 Toyota parked in the driveway, removed the keys from the glove compartment and then entered her home without permission sometime that afternoon. There was no reported damage or lost items when police investigated.
A resident of N. Village Avenue reported to police on Nov. 9 that someone stole his 2000 Buick that was parked in the driveway of his residence. That evening, the resident also reported that someone had entered his residence and removed approximately $300 and 10 sheets of postage stamps valued at $88 from his wife’s wallet.
Larcenies
A sales manager of the Lexus dealership on Sunrise Highway told police on Nov. 9 that someone stole a 2010 Lexus sometime between Aug. 15 and Nov. 6.
An owner of Dunkin Donuts on Merrick Road reported to police on Nov. 9 that on two occasions a customer accused his employees of short changing her $10. But store surveillance video reportedly showed the customer putting a $10 bill in her bra before she alleged that she didn’t receive the correct change for her purchase.
Criminal mischief
A director of the Sandel Senior Center told police on Nov. 15 that sometime between Nov. 13 and Nov. 15 someone removed approximately 17 pickets from a vinyl fence outside the building at 50 S. Park Ave.
