Arrests
A 53-year-old Uniondale woman was arrested on Sept. 22 and charged with petit larceny after an investigation at Home Goods, 150 N. Village Ave.
A 22-year-old Oceanside man was arrested on Sept. 24 and charged with a DWI, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana after police saw him driving in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Morris Avenue.
Q 45-year-old woman from W. Hempstead was arrested on Sept. 24 and charged with petit larceny after an investigation at Home Goods, 150 N. Village Ave.
A 50-year-old Baldwin Harbor man was arrested on Sept. 24 and charged with a DWI after being observed driving in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and N. Kensington Ave.
Robbery
A resident of Jericho reported on Sept. 25 that someone approached her in the Mercy Medical Center parking lot and stole a 2011 Hewlett Packard laptop valued at $1,200 and an Amazon Kindle valued at $300. The victim tripped and fell and the subject ran off on foot toward Peninsula Boulevard with the stolen property.
Attempted burglary
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 24 that someone damaged the face plate of a door lock to a third floor apartment, in an apparent attempt to gain entry.
Larcenies
A resident of Blue Point told police on Sept. 21 that someone stole a Mac Book laptop valued at $1,799 from his car which was parked near Sunrise Highway and N. Forest Avenue.
A teacher at South Side High School reported on Sept. 22 that someone stole an iPad from a classroom.
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 26 that someone stole a Mac Book laptop valued at $1,100 from his residence.
Forgery
A Rockville Centre resident reported on Sept. 21 that he received 13 forged U.S. Postal money orders in the mail from what he thought was EBay, and that he cashed the forged money orders totaling $6,195 at Chase Bank.
Assaults
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 24 that an employee of RJ Daniels, 279 Sunrise Highway, assaulted him.
A resident of Elmhurst reported on Sept. 25 that an employee of Cannon’s Blackthorn, 49 N. Village Ave., assaulted him.
Domestic incident
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 24 that her former boyfriend took her car keys and drove her motor vehicle from the vicinity of Wellington Street and N. Centre Avenue without her authorization. The resident reported the next day that she recovered her car in the near High and Front streets in Hempstead.
Harassment
A resident of Springfield Gardens told police on Sept 16 that someone had thrown a newspaper at her from a moving vehicle, while in the vicinity of Hempstead Avenue and Arrandale Road.
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 20 that she had lost her Dominican Republic passport, US resident card and social security card.
Found property
A resident of Rockville Centre reported on Sept. 14 that he had found a Trek 7000 bicycle in the vicinity of Front Street and N. Park Avenue.
