People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
A 20-year-old Lynbrook youth was arrested on Sept. 22 at 4:58 p.m. and charged with criminal possession of marijuana following a police investigation near Mill River Park.
A 26-year-old woman from Valley Stream was arrested on Sept. 25 at 3:15 a.m. and charged with assault and possession of a controlled substance; an active Nassau County warrant for harassment was also issued for her following a police investigation in Municipal Parking Field 1.
A 31-year-old Baldwin man was arrested on Sept. 26 at 7:41 p.m. and charged with criminal mischief and petit larceny following a police investigation near North Park Avenue and Merrick Road.
A 21-year-old Baldwin man was arrested on Sept. 27 and charged with petit larceny after a police investigation at Home Goods on North Village Avenue.
Burglaries
On Sept. 24, a resident from Greystone Road reported to police that someone damaged a house side door and stole two televisions sometime between Sept. 14 at 1 p.m. and Sept. 24 at 12:10 p.m.
A Hempstead Avenue resident told police on Sept. 24 that someone damaged the front window of a house and stole three televisions, a laptop, and $200 sometime between Sept. 20 at 8:10 a.m. and Sept. 24 at 2:50 p.m.
Larcenies
On Sept. 21, a manager from Associated Supermarket reported to police that a resident from Linden Street bought grocery items totaling $447.15 using two checks written against a closed Citibank checking account.
A resident from Rogers Court, West Babylon reported to police on Sept. 22 that someone damaged his driver side window and stole a GPS from his 2009 Toyota parked in the TGIF parking lot on Sunrise Highway between 5:30 p.m. and 7:50 p.m.
On Sept. 24, an employee of Harmon Drugs on Merrick Road told police that someone stole approximately 250 packages of gum valued at $780.99 from a display inside the store between 12 p.m. and 12:10 p.m.
On Sept. 25 at 5 a.m., a visitor from Laurel Drive, New Hyde Park reported to police someone stole her pocketbook while at McFadden’s Bar on Merrick Road.
A resident from Oceanside Road, Oceanside told police on Sept. 25 that someone stole a GPS, a wallet and $50.00 from his car parked on Merrick Road between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m.
On Sept. 27, a New York Avenue resident reported to police that someone stole two wheels valued at $1,000 from a 2006 Toyota parked in his driveway between 2 a.m. and 6:45 a.m.
Criminal mischief
A resident of Oxford Road reported to police on Sept. 21 that the driver side window of his 2006 Chrysler was damaged while it was parked in front of 13 N. Park Avenue between 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
On Sept. 24, a Milford Place resident told police that someone broke a cedar fence and caused approximately $150 worth of damage between 11:05 p.m. and 11:10 p.m.
On Sept. 25, a resident of Harvard Avenue reported to police that someone destroyed a picket fence and caused approximately $500 worth of damage between Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. and Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m.
A resident from Fountain Avenue reported to police on Sept. 25 that someone broke a picket fence and caused approximately $500 worth of damage sometime between Sept. 24 at 6:30 p.m. and Sept. 24 at 11 p.m.
Harassment
On Sept. 24, an Old Mill Court resident told police officers that at noontime an acquaintance harassed her grandson while near 146 N. Centre Avenue.
A resident from Sherman Avenue reported to police officers on Sept. 24 that someone harassed her by leaving a note on the front door of her house.
On Sept. 26 at 2:30 a.m., a resident from Prince Street, Baldwin told police that an acquaintance harassed him while near Lincoln Avenue and South Park Avenue.
Lost property
On Sept. 27, a visitor from 100th Ave., Queens Village reported to police that she had lost her Republic of Guyana passport on Aug. 25 at approximately 11:30 p.m. in the area of McFadden’s Bar on Merrick Road.
