Rockville Centre Crime Watch Sept. 13, 2012

People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.

Arrests

A 29-year-old man from Ontario Street, Huntington was arrested on Aug. 30 and charged with strangulation, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by police on North Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.

The same day, a 19-year-old woman from North Park Avenue, Rockville Centre was arrested and charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon, menacing and endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation by police at her residence.

A 43-year-old man from Fordham Road, North Babylon was arrested on Sept. 1 and charged with assault after a woman reported that he had punched her in the face at a bar on South Park Avenue.

Harassment

A resident of North Baldwin reported on Aug. 28 that he had a verbal altercation with another man in regard to a parking spot in the vicinity of 77 N. Centre Ave.

Property damage

A business owner on Sunrise Highway reported on Aug. 31 that the front glass door of his office was damaged.

The same day, a motorist reported that his vehicle was damaged by flying debris while landscapers were working on Peninsula Boulevard.

Larcenies

A member of Rockville Centre’s Sportset health club reported on Aug. 27 that his iPhone was stolen while he was inside.

The next day, a resident of Harvard Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole several items of jewelry, valued at $10,000, from her residence.

An employee of JK Pro Audio on Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 29 that someone stole his Apple laptop, valued at approximately $2,600, from inside the store.

The same day, a resident of N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole two state of North Carolina registration plates from her 2012 Chevrolet between the previous evening at 7 and 9:15 the next morning, while it was parked on North Village Avenue.
