People named in Crime Watch items as having been arrested and charged with violations or crimes are only suspected of committing those acts of which they are accused. They are all presumed to be innocent of those charges until and unless found guilty in a court of law.
Arrests
A 26-year-old man from 86th Avenue, Jamaica was arrested on Aug. 21 and charged with driving while intoxicated after an investigation in the vicinity of Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
A 2-year-old woman from Delaware Avenue, Island Park was arrested on Aug. 21 and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident after an investigation by police in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.
A 23-year-old man from 145th street, Jamaica was arrested the next day and charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and attempted petit larceny after an investigation by police at Chase Bank, 10 N. Village Ave., Rockville Centre.
Burglary
A resident of Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 26 that someone stole assorted jewelry, including an engagement ring valued at $14,000 from a bedroom at her residence.
Larcenies
A resident of Hempstead Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 20 that someone stole a Sony camera, valued at $150, that she had left on a counter at CVS, 598 Merrick Road, Rockville Centre.
The owner of Croxley’s Bar, 7 S. Park Ave. reported that someone cut a padlock and stole 18 beer kegs, valued at $900, from a fenced area in the rear of the business.
A resident of Waterview Place, Lynbrook reported on Aug. 23 that someone entered his unlocked 2008 Audi while it was parked at Skelos Sports Complex and stole an iPhone, valued at $650. Another $75 in cash was also stolen.
A resident of Marvin Avenue, Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 24 that someone stole nine rings valued at $900 and two watches valued at $600 from an upstairs bedroom of his residence.
A resident of Lincoln Avenue, Rockville Centre reported the next day that someone entered her 2009 Acura while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field 4 and stole $40, a Garmin GPS and personal property.
The following day, a resident of Hampton Court, Rockville Centre reported that someone stole a Giant 18-speed bicycle from his garage and entered his 2009 Jeep while it was parked at his residence. His watch and sunglasses were also stolen.
Aggravated harassment
A resident of Hampshire Road, Rockville Centre reported on Aug. 20 that someone called her cell phone multiple times, causing annoyance and alarm.
Property damage
An employee of Dolphin Gulf Nail Salon, at 346 Sunrise Highway, reported that someone damaged an electrical outlet and exhaust vent.
