Arrests

A resident of Vincent Avenue, Lynbrook, was arrested on Oct. 4 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after a police investigation in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway and Morris Avenue, Rockville Centre.

Also on Oct. 4, a resident of Seagirt Avenue, Far Rockaway, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and open warrants after a police investigation in the vicinity of N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Lafayette Avenue, Lakeview was arrested on Oct. 7 for two open warrants regarding a trespass that occurred at the LIRR station in Rockville Centre.

The next day, a resident of Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested for menacing and endangering the welfare of a child following a police investigation at his residence.

A resident of Old Mill Court, Rockville Centre, was arrested on Oct. 8 and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations after a police investigation in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway, Rockville Centre.

Robbery

A 13-year-old suspect from Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre, was custodialized on Oct. 8 after being charged with robbery and criminal possession of a weapon after an investigation by police in the vicinity of Maple Avenue, Rockville Centre.

Burglary

The owner of Taiko Restaurant, at 15 S. Village Ave., Rockville Centre reported on Oct. 7 that while he was in the basement, someone with a flashlight was observed on a video monitor in the restaurant upstairs. The male intruder fled prior to police arrival and there was no reported loss at the time of the investigation. Nearly two hours later, the owner reported that while he was in the basement, someone confronted him and struggled with him. The suspect fled again and no loss was reported.

An owner of Dino’s Restaurant, at 328 Sunrise Highway, reported on Oct. 8 that someone damaged the rear door and entered the building without authorization.

Larcenies

A resident of Lakeside Drive, Rockville Centre, reported on Oct. 4 that someone attempted to steal property from his 2008 Honda while it was parked in the driveway running.

A resident of Midwood Road, Rockville Centre, reported on Oct. 10 that someone entered his unlocked car and stole a laptop computer and other assorted property while it was parked in his driveway overnight.

The same day, a student at Molloy College reported that someone entered her friend’s unlocked car and stole her laptop computer while it was parked during the morning.

Unusual Incidents

A resident of Kings Parkway, Baldwin, reported on Oct. 5 that someone displayed to him up to 10 assorted handguns in a backpack while in the vicinity of 53 N. Park Avenue, Rockville Centre.

A resident of Brouwer Lane, Rockville Centre, reported on Oct. 8 that she encountered a suspicious man at the front door of her house. The man requested money and then a drink, causing her alarm. The subject left the area when a friend of the complainant arrived at the house.

The same day, a resident of Cleveland Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported that someone purchased two iPhones valued at $496 with a fraudulent “Bill Me Later” account using her personal information without permission.

A resident of Brower Avenue reported on Oct. 10 that she received a collection of notices for overdue accounts in her name. The accounts were opened without her permission.

The same day, a 16-year-old female student reported that an unknown adult male followed her home on foot, as she was walking from South Side High School. The student first noticed the man in the vicinity of Long Beach Road and Hampshire Road, Rockville Centre.

Criminal Michief

A resident of DeMott Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported that someone damaged two windows at a house located on Harvard Avenue, Rockville Centre.

VC Violation

Police responded to a reported disturbance at a house party on Westminster Road, Rockville Centre. Paul Yetman, 22, was issued an appearance ticket for a social host law violation under the Rockville Centre village code.

Harassment

A resident of Arleigh Road, Rockville Centre, reported on Oct. 4 that someone was posting threatening messages regarding her son on Twitter, causing annoyance and alarm.

A resident of Celeveland Avenue, Rockville Centre, reported on Oct. 6 that she was slapped in the face by a female acquaintance while in Municipal Parking Field 1.

Property Lost

A resident of Muirfield Road, Rockville Centre, reported that a gold ring, valued at $1,500, was lost in the vicinity of his residence.
