Molloy College film festival

Lindamood-Bell informational session

Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, a program in literacy research, remediation and professional development, will host a free informational overview on March 31, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Hampton Inn & Suites, 125 Merrick Road, which will discuss how the instruction develops the cognitive processes that underlie reading, comprehension and math skills. The presentation will also include discussions about the causes of and solutions for learning challenges—including the symptoms of dyslexia, hyperlexia, ADD/ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. "La Traviata" at the Church of the Ascension

The Footlight Players, a local opera company presents Giuseppe Verdi's opera, "La Traviata," to be performed live at the Church of the Ascension, 71 North Village Ave. The performances are on April 1; April 2; April 8 and April 9 at 7:30 p.m. each night. All of the singers are local talent, and most have attended prestigious music schools including the Juilliard School and the Manhattan School of Music. This is a wonderful opportunity for residents of Rockville Centre to see and hear a live performance of opera without going into the city. The cost is $12 per person in advance and $15 at the door.

Rosa Lee Young bingo night

Rosa Lee Young Childhood Center will host a Bingo Night on April 1 at 7:15 p.m. at St. Mark's United Methodist Church. Fun, prizes, snacks and drinks for the entire family. Admission $10 per person (Children 6 and up just $5). Call (516) 536-5674 for information.
