Banjo Night fundraiser

American Legion Auxiliary Post 303 presents the Long Island Banjo Society on May 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Rockville Centre post, 197 Maple Ave. $7 per person. For more information, call Pam at (516) 678-9265.

Car Wash fundraiser

The Cub Scouts of Pack 31 of Central Synagogue will have a Car Wash fundraiser on May 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center, 111 N. Oceanside Road.

Plant Sale/Fair

The United Church of Rockville Centre, at 430 Morris Ave. is holding its 20th Mothers' Day Plant/Gift Fair on May 12 from 9 a.m. -3 p.m with quality plant stock that includes: flats, individual plants and superior hanging baskets. The fair features Granny's Attic with treasures from the past, a cafe for breakfast and lunch, a new gifts boutique, book nook and this year, a silent auction. Open rain or shine. Dinner in the Dark

The Rockville Centre Lions Club will host a special evening to raise awareness of the challenges of those afflicted with blindness through diabetes on May 12 at 7:30 p.m. at the Middle Bay Country Club. Former village Trustee Jeanne Mulry and Leggz Ltd. Dance Artistic Director Joan MacNaughton, both Lions Club members, will be honored. $100 per person, with proceeds going to the outpatient Diabetes Education Center at Mercy Medical Center and other RVC Lions Club charities.
