Assemblyman Brian Curran, third from left, and Mayor Fran Murray visited with Rockville Centre Public Library staff on the morning of Sept. 27, when they came for a tour of the library’s newly completed renovations.
The library partially opened on Sept. 20 after renovations to the building’s roof and ceilings, and opened completely on Oct. 3, when it began holding programs again.
“We thank our patrons for their understanding and patience as we complete our project, and look forward to serving all of their needs in our new and improved space,” said library Director Maureen Chiofalo.
According to Chiofalo, the renovations were originally undertaken to “cut energy costs and ‘go green,’” and included replacing the skylight in the main reading room and replacing lighting fixtures throughout the building.
