Hearty congratulations

Dr. Barry Dov Schwartz, rabbi emeritus of Congregation B’nai Sholom Beth David received a hearty yasher koach, or congratulations on the dedication of the new sanctuary doorway in his honor.

  Schwartz retired two years ago after leading the congregation for 37 years.

The celebration continues

Jennie and Eugene McGoldrick, residents of Rockville Centre since 1953, and the parents of five children raised in the village, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 25. Married in 1947, their celebration continues today. Their daughter Marie said her parents have been beautiful role models for the family and that their children have immeasurable love for them.

Local law firm supports GLBT services network

Meyer, Suozzi, English & Klein, P.C. announced support of the Long Island Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Services Network, through its sponsorship of the Community Partnership Program. The Long Island GLBT Services Network is an association of five non-profit organizations working together to end homophobia, provide a home and safe space for members of the GLBT community, and advocate for equality for Long Island’s GLBT community.

“The Long Island Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Services Network is proud to be partnering with a law firm of the size and caliber of Meyer, Suozzi,” said David Kilmnick, CEO of the Long Island GLBT. “As part of The Network’s goal of creating more inclusive businesses, this partnership will help to ensure that talented GLBT Long Islanders have another supportive place to work, and that GLBT members have a law firm that understands their needs.  We applaud Meyer, Suozzi for its commitment to the Long Island GLBT Network and the entire community on Long Island.”  

  Meyer Suozzi’s Managing Attorney Lois Schlissel a Rockville Centre resident expressed the firm’s “pride” in partnering with the network and said, “Meyer Suozzi looks forward to working to advance the shared  goals of diversity and inclusion for all members of the GLBT community in Long Island.”
