Nutcracker Ballet auditions

Leggz Ltd. Dance, 486 Sunrise Highway, will hold auditions on July 26 for classically trained males and females ages 7 - adult for the full length “Nutcracker Ballet” with the RVC Guild For The Arts South Shore Symphony Orchestra. Girls Choir Concert

All are invited to a concert by the Girls Choir from Freiburg, Germany at 7 p.m. on Aug. 1 at St. Agnes Cathedral, 29 Quealy Place. This one-hour concert will contain a variety of exceptional four-part music and the girls from Germany will be joined by the St. Agnes Cathedral Girls Choir at the end. There is a free-will offering and the cathedral is air-conditioned and handicap-accessible. For more information contact the Cathedral Music Office at (516) 764-9578.

Evening Defensive Driving Courts at Mercy Medical Center

Mercy Medical Center will offer the community the Empire Safety Council’s Defensive Driving Course. The two-session, six-hour course will be held on Tuesday evening, Aug. 7 and Thursday evening, Aug. 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Mercy League Lounge located across from the entrance to the hospital’s Emergency Department. Upon completion of this course, participants are eligible for 10% off their motor vehicle insurance for three years and/or a reduction of points from their driver’s license. "Scenic Routes" art exhibit at Molloy College

The Frank and Gertrude Kaiser Art Gallery at Molloy College will exhibit the work of 10 artists in a exhibition titled "Scenic Routes." The exhibition, which will run through July 26, is part of a project that has its roots in the mentoring of artists. Gallery hours in June are Monday through Friday from 10-6 and Saturday from 10-5, and in July, Monday through Thursday from 10-6 and Saturday from 10-5.
