Domestic Violence Awareness

The Nassau County Family Violence Task Force and Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence invite the community to the Domestic Violence Awareness Ceremony on Friday, Oct. 19 at 11 a.m. The event is held in honor and remembrance of domestic violence victims. The ceremony will take place at the Theodore Roosevelt Legislative and Executive Building Ceremonial Chamber, 1550 Franklin Ave., Mineola.

St. Agnes 50th annual Parish Celebration

The "Endless Summer" is the theme of the 50th annual St. Agnes Parish Celebration set for Oct. 20, that will honor Sister Kathleen V. Carlin, O.P.; Dr. Donna Eschenauer and Helen F. Newman. Msgr. William Koenig will moderate. Call (516) 606-8193 by Oct. 5 to advertise in the journal.

Art exhibit — photographer Martin Scmidt

The Madison Theatre at Molloy College is displaying the artwork of Marty Schmidt. This photographic artist has the natural ability to transform ordinary photography into prismatic works of art by recreating selected pieces to reflect his personal expressions of color. The exhibit will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 31 and is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Charity yard sale

South Side High School's Post-Prom Committee is holding a huge, multi-family, charity yard sale at Hewitt School on October 20, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The raindate will be 10/21.
