A Rockville Centre resident was one of the honorees at the RotaCare’s 19th Annual Caregivers’ Ball on Oct. 12 at The Carlton in Eisenhower Park.

Richard Sturm, a village resident, was one of the doctors of Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island (OCLI) to receive RotaCare’s Community Service Award for their commitment to caring for Long Islanders in need.  For many years, OCLI has generously served the Long Island community by routinely providing free medical and surgical care to underserved and uninsured populations.

RotaCare supports a free health center in Uniondale that has a rotating team of 100 medical and administrative staff who donate their time and talent to provide vital health care for 1,400 patients each year. With this team of dedicated volunteers, and the financial contributions of individuals and organizations, RotaCare is working to make health care available to all in need.
