Rockville Centre resident reflecting, 11 years later

Rockville Centre resident Russ Siller, the brother of Stephen Siller, a heroic firefighter whose story of running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to reach the burning Twin Towers illustrated the bravery exhibited by so many that fateful morning, offered inspiring words as hundreds turned out for the Town of Hempstead’s annual 9/11 memorial service at Point Lookout Beach on Tuesday — the largest on Long Island — that featured two 15-foot tall chrome towers and the release of white doves as a symbol of reflection, healing and hope.
