Rockville Centre’s 24-year-old Conor Shelley added another win to his resume on Jan. 28, finishing first of 1,036 finishers in the 2nd annual Sayville Running Company 10-Mile Run to the Blue Point Brewery. Shelley completed the course through Patchogue, Blue Point, Bayport and Sayville and back in 53 minutes, 27 seconds, holding off hard charging runner-up Matt Walsh by 21 seconds.

The Run to the Brewery was the fourth recent win for Shelley, following victories in the Oyster Bay 5 Kilometer Run in October, the Rockville Centre 5K run in November and the Ho Ho Ho Holiday 5K Run in December.

Other Rockville Centre runners scoring in the late January run included Padraig Primrose (1:04:46), Kelly Duncan (1:13:53), Katie Kid (1:30:10), Rory Primrose (1:34:35), and Annmarie Itgen (1:55:17).

Co-hosted by the Greater L.I. Running Club, the Sayville Running Co. and the Blue Point Brewery, proceeds of the event were donated to Better Understanding of Life in Africa (BULA) for its efforts to secure brighter futures for African youth.
