Joann Brennan, a Rockville Centre resident, was among a select group, including Rob and former Mayor Mary Bossart, who traveled to Rome to witness the elevation of the Archbishop of New York, Timothy M. Dolan, to cardinal on Feb. 18.
In addition to attending the consistory, an assembly of cardinals presided over by Pope Benedict XVI, Brennan was also present at the Pontifical Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica, celebrated by the pope and a private viewing of the Sistine Chapel, led by the cardinal.
“This was the experience of a lifetime, surrounded by such magnificence in the Eternal City,” Brennan said.
