The Board of Education and Superintendent Dr. William Johnson recognized Rockville Centre teachers, right, on their appointment to tenure at the May 22 meeting. They are: Katelyn Dunn, Christine M. Falciano, Nicole A. Jones, Debra A. Levy, Jennifer M. Lodico, Jeannette Lynagh, Cynthia J. Marasco, Ashley E. McAree, Johanna Medina-Bowers, Angelica M. Nicotra and Virginia Stamatakis.
The following teachers were also recognized at the meeting for their service as mentors: Maria Argondizzo, Robert Baulch, Silvia Bonanno, Marissa Buckley, Mary Coleman, Vincent Gazzo, Susan Kahn, Joseph LoGuidice, Josephine Mantovani, Kathleen Mark, Patricia Montemarano, Nancy Osborne, Jeanne Radigan, Christopher Riccardi, Deirdre Rinn, Debra Schall, Jill Shuldman, Ann Sieling, Christyann Silecchia, Lisa Silecchia, Dianne Silk, Adrienne Solof, Lynn Strong, Mariann Vogel, Rachel Vyskocil and Alexis Weber.
The board also received a presentation from Daryl Blowes, founder of IQM2, a Long Island-based company that automates the public meeting process with software that can build the district’s meeting agendas, record minutes and archive all public records, cutting down on paper and printing costs for the district.
Currently, board members are mailed printed packets of information for upcoming meetings, agendas and policies that IQM2 could eliminate. The system would cost the district $15,000 each year, but if purchased through BOCES, the price would be half. There was no vote at the meeting.
