Rockville Centre schools' Summer ACE program ends

The Rockville Centre Schools’ Summer Enrichment Program recently completed another successful session. Under the direction of Principal Therese Cohen, the program ran from June 27 to Aug. 2, and was housed at South Side Middle School.

Approximately 400 students in grades K-8 participated in three fun hour-long classes each day, many of them staffed by Rockville Centre school district teachers and teaching assistants. Classes included Cooking Around the Globe, Art-A-Rama, Cartooning and Illustration, Basketball, Tennis, Gymnastics, Super Scientists and Navigating the IPad — to name just a few. At Visitor’s Day on Aug. 1, parents were able to come in and see their children’s classes in action.
