Rockville Centre Senior Fitness Day planned

The collaboration between the Sandel Senior Center and Sportset continues with the 9th annual Senior Fitness Day, set for June 12. Free and open to senior center members and the public, the program runs from noon to 2:30, and starts with a welcome, introductions and refreshments at Sportset’s Field. Next is an introduction to virtual golf at the club’s Pinnacle Golf Center, a high tech indoor facility that enables golfers to take full swings while virtually playing on one or more of the world’s great golf courses. Participants will then engage in a balance and agility course designed to help prevent falls. The day also includes introductions to a variety of strength exercise resistance machines and a session on strength and flexibility exercises designed to improve back health. Sign up at either the Sandel Center or the front desk at Sportset, or contact Mary Pettas at the Sandel Center (516) 678-9245 or either Bud Cosgrove or Lydia Jacobs at Sportset (516) 536-8700.
