To commemorate the birthday of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Hewitt Elementary School students in Michelle Ebel’s STELLAR class read the book “Happy Birthday, Martin Luther King” and then talked about being peaceful in order to get your point across. One of their main focuses was using words instead of violence. The students were then asked to write down one dream that they have for the world, their school or community — those dreams were then used to form the Martin Luther King Dream Wall at the school.
