After a two-month hiatus, students of the Rockville Centre School District’s seven schools flocked back to school on Sept. 5 to meet their new teachers and classmates.
At Riverside Elementary School, dozens of students gathered outside before school to say hello to friends, get acquainted with classmates, and greet their teachers. The students then congregated for the national anthem.
“Welcome everybody back for the school year,” Schools Superintendent Dr. William Johnson said at the Board of Education’s Sept. 6 meeting. “My thanks to all the staff members who played an instrumental role in preparing our schools to open very effectively.”
