A number of local animal lovers brought their beloved companions to the annual blessing of the pets at St. Agnes Cathedral on the afternoon of Sept. 4. Monsignor William Koenig presided over the ceremony which is in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, known as the patron saint of animals.
