Lieutenant Schaefer will use the knowledge he has gained to help lead the department into the next decade. I congratulate him on this tremendous accomplishment,” said Police Commissioner Charles Gennario.
Lieutenant Schaefer joined the Rockville Centre Police Department in 1989. He was promoted to sergeant in 2001 and to lieutenant in 2006 and during his tenure. He has earned several professional awards, including the Nassau County Municipal Police Chiefs Association Distinguished Service Award.
