Maple Family Centers has surpassed $1 million in donations to veterans’ organizations, reaching the milestone during its 65th anniversary year.

The LaSpina family celebrated this week at Maple Lanes RVC in Rockville Centre, where veterans, bowlers and local officials gathered as the company presented its latest proceeds to Bowlers to Veterans Link, a national nonprofit supporting therapeutic and recreational programs for veterans and active-duty service members.

Maple began its anniversary year in September 2025 with roughly $911,000 raised for BVL and launched a “Race to the Million” campaign to top $1 million. The goal was reached in January, months ahead of schedule.

As part of the latest donation, BVL awarded $50,000 to Honor Flight Long Island, which brings local veterans to Washington, D.C., to visit national memorials and participate in ceremonies in their honor.

Maple’s partnership with BVL began after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, when the LaSpina family made community involvement central to its mission.

“At Maple, we love our veterans,” said Maple President John LaSpina. “They put themselves in harm’s way to protect us all, much like the first responders did on 9/11. We are so proud to pass the $1 million mark in funds raised for BVL and to show that one small company can make a big difference.”

Funds raised support veterans’ groups in New York and Florida, where Maple operates five bowling centers, through tournaments and special events.

“Our bowlers have enthusiastically joined us in the cause and have given very generously to help make a difference in the lives of our heroes,” LaSpina said.
