Patrick Healey, a senior at South Side High School, received the prestigious George Farber Outstanding Student Award last month.

Patrick was one of 17 students to receive the award, and the only student from the Joseph M. Barry Technical and Education Center. He was honored at a ceremony and luncheon, surrounded by his family and school personnel.

An honors student in the Construction Electricity program at Barry Tech, Patrick has excelled in his field. He is currently employed at C M Ritchey Electrical Contractors through the work-based learning program. He also spends time volunteering in the cancer center at Winthrop-University Hospital, and is a volunteer firefighter with the Rockville Centre Fire Department.

Patrick says he’s looking forward to graduating from high school and pursuing a career as an electrician.

His guidance counselor, Joanna Zweben, says he’s most deserving of the award.
