Gray Glass 10, Maria's Yummy Ice Cream 5
The G men played a trerrific game, breaking the tie in the sixth with an onslaught of hits to just lick Maria's. The Defense made some geat plays when they needed it. Trevor chased down a big fly ball to center for a big second out then hit his cut off man, Matt Caputo, who gunned down the runner comming home with big John Labarbera making the tag for the third out that stopped a big first inning rally by Maria's. The D did it again in the 5th with Charlie Peralta in right gunning down the runner at third to Conner Viggiano making the tag for the third out to end Maria's only other rally.
Andy Beaz piched a very strong first three innings to keep us in it then Matt Caputo came in and threw 7 big K's to shut down Maria's.
The offensive xexplosion came in the top of sixth with a jump start opening double by Conner Viggiano who went 3 for 4 for the day. Then a big single by Charlie Peralta brought Connerinto scoring position. Sean Pillay then smacked a double to score one. Raul Rosa then came through with a two outs single to spark the two out rally. Treavor Cady singled in another run with Matt Caputo, 3 for 3 on the day, doing the same. Andy Baez then came in and for the third time of the day smacked another big hit, going 3 for 4 for the day. His earlier Triple was the farthest hit ball we've seen this year.
Joe Schinco was pitched around all day but still managed to slug a single to bat 1.000 and provide a great stabilizung force behind the plate for the final three inings. Another fine team effort.
Gray Glass 11, Gregoris Nissan 3
The G men came out firing with Charlie Peralta's lead off single then big John Labarbera's two run Home run blast in the first. John went 3 for 3 for the day to go along with a barage of singles by Matt Caputo (4 for 5 on the day). The other big blasts came fron Sean Pillay and Raul Rosa both getting big doubles driving in two runs each. The base running maniac of the day goes to Joe schinco who got on all five times up at the plate and scoring three times with great stealing and base speed. The other hits came from Jimmy Bogel who slugged a big run scoring single in the second and Conner Viggiano who laid down a devilish bunt with bases loaded in the first to score a run.
The defense was mostly pitching by Joe Schinco and Matt Caputo who combined for 11 K's on the day. Other big defensive plays were made by John Labarbera who snaged a flaming hot line drive at first to start our defense going and Charlie Peralta who vacummed in two hot grounders in a row at second to control the second inning. Jimmy Bogel and Conner Viggiano did a solid job behind the plate all day.
