      With the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on New York City, the World Economic Forum (WEF) was moved for the first time in history to the Waldorf Astoria in Manhattan from the mountains of Davos, Switzerland to show solidarity between economic leaders.
      The move to the Waldorf Astoria made security at the hotel higher than ever. Overseeing the task, Rockville Centre's own Ambassador Protection Services. The company, which has been operating since 1995, was tapped for the job, because of their strong ties with the New York Police Department and the Waldorf Astoria.
      We were chosen for the job because of our reputation, said Ambassador president, Dennis Kelly. The Waldorf Astoria has been a client of ours so they informed the [World Economic Forum] that we were suited for the job.
      After making a bid, Ambassador was chosen for the largest event ever held at the historic hotel. Now their task was not only to secure the surroundings from terrorists, but also angry protesters and intruders who would have liked nothing more than to disrupt what they deem corrupt discussions.
