The Rockville Centre Little League recognized all of its top teams during the annual awards dinner on Nov. 2.

The Coral House in Baldwin was filled with baseball and softball players of all ages and levels as the league celebrated the conclusion of its 66th season. All of the regular-season league champions received awards, plus the boys under-11 and under-12 Williamsport All-Star teams, who won their respective District 30 championships.

The girls under-10 Williamsport All-Stars were recognized for winning the District 30 and Section 4 West championships.  They went on to finish fourth at the New York State tournament.

The guest speakers were New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom and Molloy College softball hurler Chelsea Hawkes.

The Thomas Heaney Memorial Sportsmanship Award winners were Teddy Moore, 9, Daniel Walsh, 11, and Olivia Medford, 12. Eight-year-old Juliana Roberts took home the first Richard Joyce Memorial Award for sportsmanship, team spirit and dedication.

Joyce was a longtime member of the league’s board of directors and the vice president of the fastpitch softball program before retiring. He passed away earlier this year.

Joyce’s wife, Paulette, and daughter, Lauren, presented Roberts with the award.
