RVC man pleads guilty in bank robbery spree

      Forensic evidence linked Trantel, a longtime Windsor Avenue resident, to at least two of the crime scenes. He pleaded guilty to robberies at a Fleet Bank in East Rockaway on Aug. 8, 2003, an HSBC Bank in Great Neck on Oct. 2, and a Fleet Bank in Jericho on Oct. 10. He was arrested on Dec. 28 last year and also charge with robberies at a Fleet Bank in Merrick and a State Bank of Long Island in Garden City.
      In addition to his prison term, Trantel will have to pay restitution to all of the banks. Prosecutors did not disclose how much money was taken.
