Santa is coming to town

"It's a time for Baldwin residents and business owners to come together,
give thanks and kick off the holiday season," said Chamber President Ginny Foley.
Santa Claus will come to town riding on one of Baldwin's fire trucks and
bringing lots of goodies for the children.
Long known for lending her voice during this celebration, Elizabeth
Eckhardt will be back again to sing for the celebrants. Also providing music will be the Middle School Chorus, the Baldwin High School Concert Choir and students from the New World Music Center.
According to Mary Leake, entertainment coordinator, others performing will be the Police Athletic League cheerleaders and students from Pat's Dance Studio.
Residents will be able to enjoy cider, hot chocolate and other goodies
donated by local merchants.
To start the season right, homemade holiday banners will be put out this week, and 25 winter banners bearing snowmen will soon be raised as well. "We are very
excited that the Chamber is able to fund these additional banners," said Linda Degen, who along with Ted Eid formed the decoration committee.
Ms. Degen said the Chamber hopes to be able to continue adding banners
every year. Twenty-five more Welcome to Baldwin banners will be raised in spring.
A 20-page keepsake journal will also be available. According to Deborah Maniaci, its
creator, the journal contains photographs from last year's celebration and two color-me pages for children. She hopes people will treasure it as a memento of the celebration.
