The polling place will be Winthrop Avenue School from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. for Bellmore residents and Newbridge Road School from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. for North Bellmore voters.
Three candidates are running unopposed for Board of Education trustee positions, two in the Bellmore Elementary School District and one in the North Bellmore Elementary School District. Each of the four elementary boards -Bellmore and North Bellmore as well as Merrick and North Merrick- select two of their trustees every year to serve on the Central High School District Board of Education. All trustees serve without pay.
Specifically, Bellmore incumbents Steven Traum, the board's current president, and Jay Breakstone, and North Bellmore incumbent Nina Lanci, also a current president, are seeking three-year terms. Information about the candidates will be provided in the next issue of the Herald. Budget information for both elementary school districts was reported previously.
