To commemorate the occasion, the Herald sent a photographer to visit North Bellmore's Newbridge Road Elementary and Bellmore's Reinhard Early Childhood Center.
Newbridge Road Elementary houses 430 students and offers full day classes from kindergarten to sixth grade. The school is part of a district wide initiative called Step Up to Writing that promotes student writing through language development, grammar, punctuation and the overall writing process.
The Reinhard Early Childhood Center offers classes from pre kindergarten to second grade. The school endeavors to create an environment where students are given the "opportunity to flourish in a safe, cooperative environment that encourages risk-taking, flexibility, exploration, social/emotional and academic growth."
