Damian Woram, a Life Scout in Rockville Centre Troop 214, began his Eagle Project at Kidsfest on Sept. 21. Woram’s project involves informing the community of Rockville Centre on emergency preparedness and basic first aid in the event of an evacuation or sheltering at home with out utilities. With the help of trained volunteers, Woram demonstrated the proper use of the items in each kit, and provided handouts of information on necessary survival materials, alternative means of transportation, evacuation shelter locations and important contact information.
