Following an uncontested campaign, Sea Cliff’s Deputy Mayor Nick Pinto and Trustee George Williams have been reelected with 164 and 152 votes respectively. Christine Abbenda Hughes also won her uncontested election with 168 votes, making her the village’s new justice.

This will be Pinto’s fourth term on the board, which he has been a member of for the last six years and deputy mayor for the last two. He serves as liaison to the Sea Cliff Fire Department and is currently working with the zoning advisory committee as it and the board work to update the village zoning code.

George Williams is entering his second term as trustee, and had previously served on the board of the Village Library for six years. Williams serves as liaison to the library and Friends of the Sea Cliff Library, as well as liaison to the Beautification Committee and Tree Commission.

This election marks Abbenda Hughes’ first run for public office. As a court attorney at Nassau County Family Court, Abbenda Hughes works with judges to research and analyze cases. She has been an attorney for more than 30 years and has experience in family court, criminal court and jury trials in federal court.
