An East Meadow resident was one of 24 men arrested by Suffolk County Police for soliciting sex from undercover detectives posing as children in on-line Internet chat rooms.
The men, including security guard Dennis Robinson, 25 of Marshall Drive, East Meadow, were charged with one count of attempting to disseminate indecent materials to a minor, an E Felony.
Detectives from Suffolk County¹s Computer Crimes Unit posed as 13-year old boys and girls on the Internet and set up dates with the men over the course of a month, agreeing to meet them at a house in central Suffolk. Police said Robinson was one of 13 men who showed up at the house and was immediately arrested.
³If they plead guilty or are convicted, they will be registered as Level 1 sex offenders, and that designation lasts 20 years,² said Det. Mark Griffith of the Suffolk County Computer Crimes Unit.
